Last week Dad brought home a large box from school for you guys to play in. It has needed several duct tape repairs, but you guys are still having a blast with it. Tonight it was a “boat”…you drank your milk while “looking at the stars”. Love you guys.
This week CeeCee has been trying to fit is as many Christmas projects as possible. Poor Avett…you are so NOT interested in the arts and crafts, but at least it keeps Justyce and Cody out of your hair while you play with your toys! : )

Avett actually seemed to enjoy painting his candy cane ornament! Maybe it’s because you love candy canes so much!
During Thanksgiving week we went up to Cashiers to spend some quiet time with the family and it snowed. Yay!!! We decided to head outside to the Christmas tree farm for a few holiday photos! It was chilly, but we all had a blast!
We have so much to be thankful for! We love you guys.

One of our favorite things about you right now, Avett, is seeing what your shoe choices will be. Women’s shoes are your favorite, with women’s boots being at the top of the list. Just to keep things interesting, you also like to wear a different shoe on each foot. : )
Every day that CeeCee and Justyce are here you immediately put on whatever shoes Justyce wore here. You wear the red mary jane shoes of Cody’s way more than she does…it is so endearing! When Nana and I took you to Target a while ago to buy some winter boots you wanted nothing to do with any of the boys shoes…clearly the girls shoe department was waaaayyyy more interesting! I agree! Who wants boring plain brown boots when there are pink sparkly ones!!!
Last week we went to Nana and Papa’s for dinner and you were wearing Cody’s red mary janes while watching Curious George with Papa. You two are such a mess!
Last night’s shoe choice before bed was pretty funny…you found these in the closet and pulled them out. It was pretty funny trying to get them on your feet because you are extremely ticklish on your feet and kept cracking up when we were trying to help you put them on!

A few years ago we started a tradition with our friends that we love. Our friends are truly our “chosen family”…we are so lucky to be surrounded by amazing friends to raise our children with, celebrate the good times with, and support each other through the rough times. A few weeks before Thanksgiving we have a “Friendsgiving” potluck party. All of our friends bring a side dish or dessert, Dada cooks a turkey, and everyone has a chance to visit and catch up! Thanks to our buddy Dean who hijacked mama’s camera for a while and took some photos for us!

Well, we’ve been reading books leading up to Halloween to help you guys understand the whole trick or treat/costume concept…neither of you have really ever had candy (mommy tries to limit sugar and processed foods for you), or seen monsters, ghosts, witches, etc. so we weren’t sure how you would feel about it. Let’s just say Halloween was a hit!!! This year you guys dressed up as an elephant (Avett) and a ladybug (Cody). We went over to our neighbors house to meet before heading out to go trick or treating!

In between houses Dad pulled you along in the wagon so you could conserve energy for trick or treating! Dad dressed up as a fly fisherman…
Last week while we were in Cashiers we went to Dollar General and bought some cheap plastic glasses from the Halloween section for you guys to play dress up with…. 
We quickly learned that the eyeballs on the glasses would pop out and then they were just colorful frames. Avett, you took a particular liking to these glasses and wore them nonstop! Here you are reading your favorite culinary magazine with them…

This week we spent some quality time with Nana up in Cashiers. We decided to head back to Cliffside Recreation area to check out some fall color…
Avett is telling us to, “Come on!”
And off you two go together through a tunnel of rhododendrons…
The color around the lake was gorgeous! Just the reflections in the water were stunning!
Not a bad place to run and play!
We stopped to have a snack at the picnic tables…
and found a really cool fuzzy caterpillar!
Once we started hiking again Nana found some cool mushroom!
Then, we threw a few rocks into the water…
We hiked for a while…
and then we got tired….
We stopped for a last look over the lake at the end of our hike.
