The 52 Project/Week 28

This week CeeCee has been trying to fit is as many Christmas projects as possible.  Poor Avett…you are so NOT interested in the arts and crafts, but at least it keeps Justyce and Cody out of your hair while you play with your toys!  : )

IMG_4873 IMG_4870 IMG_4869 IMG_4868 IMG_4867 IMG_4866 IMG_4865 Everyone loved the little glittery sticky ornaments for the tree…IMG_4864 IMG_4863 IMG_4861 IMG_4858 IMG_4854 IMG_4853 IMG_4852 IMG_4835IMG_4851 IMG_4847 IMG_4844 Avett actually seemed to enjoy painting his candy cane ornament!  Maybe it’s because you love candy canes so much!IMG_4843 IMG_4842 IMG_4841 IMG_4840

The 52 Project/Week 27

During Thanksgiving week we went up to Cashiers to spend some quiet time with the family and it snowed.  Yay!!!  We decided to head outside to the Christmas tree farm for a few holiday photos!  It was chilly, but we all had a blast!

IMG_4529 IMG_4604 IMG_4629 IMG_4625 IMG_4624 IMG_4622 IMG_4621 IMG_4620 IMG_4594 IMG_4593 IMG_4587 IMG_4582 IMG_4576 IMG_4564 IMG_4563 IMG_4560 IMG_4559 IMG_4558 IMG_4555 IMG_4553 IMG_4540 IMG_4539 IMG_4530We have so much to be thankful for!  We love you guys.

The 52 Project/Week 26

My how our Friday nights have changed over the last few years…and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.  Love you guys!IMG_4466 IMG_4472 IMG_4477 IMG_4482 IMG_4503IMG_4517IMG_4489

The 52 Project/Week 25

One of our favorite things about you right now, Avett, is seeing what your shoe choices will be.  Women’s shoes are your favorite, with women’s boots being at the top of the list.  Just to keep things interesting, you also like to wear a different shoe on each foot.  : )IMG_4339 IMG_4340Every day that CeeCee and Justyce are here you immediately put on whatever shoes Justyce wore here.  You wear the red mary jane shoes of Cody’s way more than she does…it is so endearing!  When Nana and I took you to Target a while ago to buy some winter boots you wanted nothing to do with any of the boys shoes…clearly the girls shoe department was waaaayyyy more interesting! I agree!  Who wants boring plain brown boots when there are pink sparkly ones!!!

Last week we went to Nana and Papa’s for dinner and you were wearing Cody’s red mary janes while watching Curious George with Papa.  You two are such a mess!

IMG_20141110_194813  Last night’s shoe choice before bed was pretty funny…you found these in the closet and pulled them out.  It was pretty funny trying to get them on your feet because you are extremely ticklish on your feet and kept cracking up when we were trying to help you put them on!IMG_20141121_205949-Love you buddy

The 52 Project/Week 24

A few years ago we started a tradition with our friends that we love.  Our friends are truly our “chosen family”…we are so lucky to be surrounded by amazing friends to raise our children with, celebrate the good times with, and support each other through the rough times.  A few weeks before Thanksgiving we have a “Friendsgiving” potluck party.  All of our friends bring a side dish or dessert, Dada cooks a turkey, and everyone has a chance to visit and catch up!  Thanks to our buddy Dean who hijacked mama’s camera for a while and took some photos for us!IMG_4342 IMG_4343 Doug and “Douglet”…IMG_4359 Traffic in Atlanta can really get to you…IMG_4357Don’t make me come over there!!!IMG_4358  Joe busting up a traffic jam between Hank and Avett…IMG_4355 Jenny & Hank IMG_4352 Charlotte & Levi enjoying some time on the slide…IMG_4349 IMG_4348 IMG_4347 IMG_4345 Joe, Justyce and Avett mugging for the camera!IMG_4372 Jon, Dean, Merry, & Jaimie…love these people!IMG_4370 NayNay!IMG_4373 Kirty and Papa spend some time catching up on the deck…IMG_4375 NayNay with the kiddos on the porch swing…IMG_4377  Andy took everyone for wagon rides…IMG_4385 IMG_4386IMG_4392 IMG_4394 IMG_4419 IMG_4423  IMG_4415 IMG_4412Avett is a big fan of Nana’s bacon deviled eggs…CeeCee walked him around the deck…like dangling a carrot in front of a horse!  : ) IMG_4380IMG_4383Double Trouble…IMG_4426

The 52 Project/Week 17

This week Dada had Fall Break, so we took a few days to go up to Cashiers together.  It was wonderful!  We did some hiking, some crafting, some playing in waterfalls, etc.  Here we are at Cliffside Recreation Area just outside of Highlands, NC.  It was a great little trail that took us through rhododendron tunnels, over several bridges, with a picnic area for a snack, and even a waterfall!IMG_2011

A little extra love from sissy…IMG_2019

Avett led the way through the trails…IMG_2027Dada and his little hikers!IMG_2029 Our next stop was Sliding Rock, just outside of Highlands, NC.  We had a great time playing in the water and building sand castles.  This was a beautiful spot and super easy to get to!IMG_2038 IMG_2035 IMG_2031Later that night we decided to have craft time with you guys out at the Chimney Garden, where mama and dada got married over 6 years ago!  We love this place and thought it would be a great place to spend some time outside doing a fall craft!  Mama made trees out of brown construction paper and you guys made “leaves” with your fingerprints.

IMG_3263 IMG_3264 IMG_3267 IMG_3269 IMG_3271 IMG_3272 Not too shabby of a spot to craft, eh?  Mama and Dada said their “I Do’s” right in front of the chimney there!IMG_3273 IMG_3276

IMG_3266Dada had a great idea to dip bits of lichen into the ink pad and then use it on the paper to make “grass” under the tree.  Cody, you were excited to try it out!IMG_3278IMG_3279IMG_3280 Then, we dipped leaves into the ink pads!IMG_3284  Cody, you were excited to show us your tree!IMG_3289 Your final product!  Cody’s is on the left, Avett’s on the right!IMG_3291 After we were done crafting, we had some great playtime outside.  You LOVE when Dada throws you in the air!!!IMG_3293 IMG_3302 IMG_3305-2  Cody ran around the trees for a little while…

IMG_3307IMG_3317And then stopped for a few quiet moments…I love these sweet moments!!!IMG_3308 IMG_3310 IMG_3314What a fabulous few days getting to connects and spend quality time with you guys.  You are so loved!

The 52 Project/Week 16

This post is dedicated to CeeCee our amazing nanny.  This week is National Nanny Week and we couldn’t have hit the jackpot anymore than we have.  We are so lucky to have you and you and Justyce will alway be a part of our family.  Much love to both of you!

This week our most amazing super nanny CeeCee took you guys and Justyce on the deck to make some good old fashioned mud pies!

IMG_3188 IMG_3190 Avett, you weren’t quite sure how you felt about getting your hands dirty at first…IMG_3192 Cody, you immediately thought this mud pie thing was a great idea!IMG_3193 CeeCee found a worm in the mud!!!IMG_3195-2  After a while you warmed up to the idea of playing in the mud, Avett…IMG_3196 IMG_3198  You even helped CeeCee pour the mud into the water table!IMG_3201 Justyce became quite the little mud pie chef!IMG_3203 IMG_3204 IMG_3210 IMG_3212 IMG_3213 The three of you worked so well together preparing a delicious mud pie meal!IMG_3215 IMG_3216 IMG_3221 IMG_3222 IMG_3224 IMG_3225  Cody, Justyce had a few tips to give you on your mud pie techniques…here she is telling you all about it!  : )IMG_3233 IMG_3235 IMG_3238 IMG_3241 You were so proud of your creations you offered me a bite…IMG_3244 IMG_3247 IMG_3248 And then you actually took a real bite, Avett….and I don’t think it was what you expected.IMG_3250 IMG_3251 After all the fun CeeCee got you all cleaned up and ready for nap time.IMG_3260 IMG_3261Love you guys!

The 52 Project/Week 15

This week Dada played in a disc golf tournament over the weekend, so we hung out with Nana and Papa.  On Saturday we went to a “Touch a Truck” event and Farmer’s Market in Johns Creek and had a blast!  There were trucks, but even though you LOVE trucks when you are with me in the car, you were both a little overwhelmed when we got up close to the trucks.  Avett, we barely got you to hang out in this Bobcat…you actually tried to crawl out right away!IMG_3110

King of Pops (the most amazing popsicles ever) had a stand at the Farmer’s Market, so we got an assortment of pops for everyone to try.  They were a hit!

IMG_3114IMG_3115

There was some live music, so both of you showed us your best moves…Cody, you had a blast dancing with Becky Bosselman, one of our good family friends! Cody Dancing-1

IMG_3116 IMG_3118 IMG_3119 IMG_3120

Avett and Papa had some bonding time while listening to the music.  PapaIMG_3122 IMG_3123

After all that dancing you needed a snack and took a break for some “Tummy Bunnies” (aka Annie’s Organic gummy bunnies).  These “tummy bunnies” cure everything that ails you right now.  : )

There were beaded necklaces tied around the balloons to keep them held down as a weight and you loved them Cody.  IMG_3130 IMG_3138 IMG_3142 IMG_3157

After the “Touch a Truck” event we went to Nana & Papa’s for a nap.  You guys were worn out and took an almost 4 hour nap!  While you slept Mama and Nana made some Queso (your FAVORITE) from scratch!  We got some cute little star shaped cracker and cut out a tortilla into the shape of a moon.  You loved it!IMG_3161  Avett loved the star shaped crackers!IMG_3172 IMG_3175

Cody and Queso

IMG_3179 IMG_3180 IMG_3181 IMG_3184 Avett, you had a bad case of Queso Face at the end of this!!!IMG_3185

Cody, it is frightening to think of all the things you are going to get away with in life by using the sweet face.  : )

IMG_3186Our favorite part of the evening was seeing you guys enjoying a little whipped cream from the can.  : )
