The 52 Project/Week 31

We’ve had a nice quiet weekend around the house this week…so we decided to make some pumpkin squares together!  Cody helped with gathering ingredients and measuring…Avett, you were quality control on the ingredients.  I forgot how much you two liked pumpkin straight from the can!IMG_20150104_110312 Then, Avett found his glasses again while playing with the play dough.  I love these glasses.IMG_20150104_113615Love you guys-

The 52 Project/Week 28

This week CeeCee has been trying to fit is as many Christmas projects as possible.  Poor Avett…you are so NOT interested in the arts and crafts, but at least it keeps Justyce and Cody out of your hair while you play with your toys!  : )

The 52 Project/Week 17

This week Dada had Fall Break, so we took a few days to go up to Cashiers together.  It was wonderful!  We did some hiking, some crafting, some playing in waterfalls, etc.  Here we are at Cliffside Recreation Area just outside of Highlands, NC.  It was a great little trail that took us through rhododendron tunnels, over several bridges, with a picnic area for a snack, and even a waterfall!IMG_2011

A little extra love from sissy…IMG_2019

Avett led the way through the trails…IMG_2027Dada and his little hikers!IMG_2029 Our next stop was Sliding Rock, just outside of Highlands, NC.  We had a great time playing in the water and building sand castles.  This was a beautiful spot and super easy to get to!IMG_2038 IMG_2035 IMG_2031Later that night we decided to have craft time with you guys out at the Chimney Garden, where mama and dada got married over 6 years ago!  We love this place and thought it would be a great place to spend some time outside doing a fall craft!  Mama made trees out of brown construction paper and you guys made “leaves” with your fingerprints.

IMG_3263 IMG_3264 IMG_3267 IMG_3269 IMG_3271 IMG_3272 Not too shabby of a spot to craft, eh?  Mama and Dada said their “I Do’s” right in front of the chimney there!IMG_3273 IMG_3276

IMG_3266Dada had a great idea to dip bits of lichen into the ink pad and then use it on the paper to make “grass” under the tree.  Cody, you were excited to try it out!IMG_3278IMG_3279IMG_3280 Then, we dipped leaves into the ink pads!IMG_3284  Cody, you were excited to show us your tree!IMG_3289 Your final product!  Cody’s is on the left, Avett’s on the right!IMG_3291 After we were done crafting, we had some great playtime outside.  You LOVE when Dada throws you in the air!!!IMG_3293 IMG_3302 IMG_3305-2  Cody ran around the trees for a little while…

IMG_3307IMG_3317And then stopped for a few quiet moments…I love these sweet moments!!!IMG_3308 IMG_3310 IMG_3314What a fabulous few days getting to connects and spend quality time with you guys.  You are so loved!

The 52 Project/Week 14

Every day both of you do little things that crack Mama and Dada up!  Mama is trying to catch all of those little moments so we always remember them.  Cody, this week you helped mama while I worked!  You told me, “I push this button…and now I’m pushing these buttons REALLY FAST!” I was so glad you you were there to help me in the office!IMG_20140831_095440_796_1

Avett, for a few weeks now you have been obsessed with Dada’s coffee cup…so obsessed that you decided to take it to bed with you.  Here you are on the monitor asleep cuddled up with Dada’s coffee cup.  There was no getting that cup away from you at bedtime!  : )

The 52 Project/Week 12

Cody wanted to work with Play Dough today, so we busted out the Play Dough kit that our friend Jaimee Diller got you for your birthday and started creating!IMG_2886 IMG_2890 IMG_2891 IMG_2893 When I asked what animal you wanted to make you said a monkey (like Curious George, your favorite), so we worked together on making a play dough monkey…IMG_2894 IMG_2895 Avett, you came over and made your best monkey noises when you saw our monkey!  Oooh ooh oooh!  Ah ah ah ah!!!!IMG_2896 IMG_2897 IMG_2898 Sweet Frei watched from the sidelines while lying on the Curious George quilt.  : )IMG_2901 And Finn didn’t want to be left out of the Play Dough fun!IMG_2902 IMG_2903 IMG_2904  IMG_2907IMG_2916 Avett, you spent a lot of time working on your cutting skills with the scissors…IMG_2915 IMG_2905  While Cody, you worked on using the different shaped cookie cutters…IMG_2919 IMG_2920 Avett, you then wanted to work on rolling the Play Dough to make snakes…IMG_2917  IMG_2924Another fun morning activity with both of you!  I love these simple mornings with you.  : )

The 52 Project/Week 9

In an attempt to beat the July heat we decided to popsicle paint.  I decided to call it popsicle paint, because you two couldn’t decide if your paint was a popsicle, or part of an art project.  : )  I basically froze some of your paint, inserted a “handle”, gave you a canvas and let you go to town!IMG_2760IMG_2763IMG_2775IMG_2771IMG_2768IMG_2767IMG_2776 IMG_2778IMG_2782 IMG_2783As with any project involving paint, you were ready to paint handprints Cody!IMG_2805IMG_2806 IMG_2802 Uh oh Cody…you have that wild look in your eyes!IMG_2800 IMG_2799 IMG_2796 Avett, everything became part of your canvas….your face…the table…the house.  : )IMG_2793 IMG_2791  The finished product.  Perfection!IMG_2809

The 52 Project/Week 8

Tonight we decided to try a new craft activity from our favorite art blog The Artful Parent. We have gotten so many great ideas of crafty things to do around the house from this blog and couldn’t wait to try the shaving cream marbling activity!  It started out a very neat and tidy affair…and quickly we were all covered in colored shaving cream.  : )

IMG_2320 IMG_2321First we gave our aluminum pans a good layer of shaving cream…IMG_2322IMG_2323Then we squirted paint into the shaving cream and used craft sticks to swirl it around to make cool marbling patterns!IMG_2393IMG_2324 IMG_2325IMG_2333Once we had a cool pattern then we would press paper or paper plates into the colored  shaving cream mixture and scrape off the excess with a craft stick.  Then we played in the water bowl to wash off our hands!  The water bowl was as much fun as the painting activity for you two!IMG_2334Both of you had fun feeling the shaving cream and playing with it!IMG_2355IMG_2356 Soon everyone was covered in shaving cream!  Even Dada!IMG_2366 IMG_2384 IMG_2369 IMG_2380 IMG_2381 IMG_2378

Next we just painted onto plates for a while…Cody you LOVE to paint.  You will often wake up from a nap and just start asking to paint.  I think we need to get you into some art classes soon! One of your favorite things to do right now is paint your hand and make handprints…

Our plan is to use the paper plates to make butterflies, so hopefully we can get to that in a few days.  Love you guys!
